一般所謂的檜木香，大多來自芯材，但「這款產品，是把從檜木葉萃取出的精油滿滿地濃縮製成」。

The scent of the leaf differs subtly from that of the heartwood. Most hinoki fragrances come from the heartwood, but this product is concentrated purely from oil extracted from the leaves. 岐阜縣中津川市加子母。這是一片群山環抱、自然豐饒的土地，森林覆蓋率高達93%，
「以出產加子母檜木為代表，是知名的東濃檜木產地」。

Kashimo, Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture — a mountain village rich in nature, 93% covered by forest, and renowned as the source of Kashimo hinoki and Tono hinoki.

加子母檜木自古以來，支撐了伊勢神宮、法隆寺金堂、姬路城、銀閣寺、名古屋城本丸御殿修復等眾多歷史建築。
「令和7年（2025年），也再度被奉納為伊勢神宮式年遷宮的御用木材」。

Kashimo hinoki has long supported historic structures — Ise Grand Shrine, Horyu-ji Temple’s Main Hall, Himeji Castle, Ginkaku-ji Temple, and the restored Hommaru Palace of Nagoya Castle. In Reiwa 7 (2025), it was once again offered as sacred timber for the Shikinen Sengu of Ise Grand Shrine.

For generations, this region has protected its mountains by hand while cultivating hinoki — cutting only what is needed, and passing the forest on to the next generation. It is this legacy that has earned Kashimo its name: the Village of Sacred Trees.

如此引以為傲的林業，如今正面臨重大的轉捩點。隨著建築規格的變化與海外木材流通量的擴大，
「檜木的價格相較昭和時期，已下降至約三分之一」。

This proud industry now stands at a major turning point. Shifting construction standards and rising imports of foreign lumber have driven hinoki prices down to roughly a third of their Showa-era levels.

「由於國產木材價格下滑，單靠林業已難以維持生計，山林管理人才與接班人不足，成為當前嚴重的問題」。

2024年起，日本開始實施森林環境贈與稅，每位成人每年負擔1,000日圓，啟動了守護森林的制度。

但光靠金錢無法守護森林，唯有實際走入山林、與樹木相對、持續付出勞力的人，森林才能真正傳承給下一代。

Falling prices for domestic timber have made forestry alone difficult to live on, leaving a serious shortage of people to manage and inherit the mountains. Since 2024, Japan’s Forest Environment Tax has asked every adult to contribute ¥1,000 a year toward protecting forests — but money alone cannot save them. Only the continued work of people who enter the mountains and keep tending the land can carry the forest forward.
